Karastergiou Bros is located in the heart of Kozani’s industrial area, in a strategic location which enables it to be in 2-hour drive distance from the cultivation areas of our fruits.
In a total of 3000 m2, almost 2000 m2 are refrigerated. Our 8 chambers are equipped with state-of-the-art cooling units, while 3 of them can support ULO (Ultra low oxygen) conditions, and one chamber is used for pre-cooling. Since 2023, and in line with our goal to use reneable energy sources to power the facilities, a solar power plant was installed on the roof, in order to power the packing house leaving the smallest possible carbon footprint.
In our packing house operates a modern packing line which sorts our rounded and semi-rounded fruits by weight, diameter and color, capable of sorting up to 8 tones/hour.
Since 2013, Karastergiou Bros has been operating a branch in the Central Market of Thessaloniki (KATH), at B57, to ensure that the products become more accessible to customers who are either active in retail sales in the Thessaloniki area, or to wholesalers from the wider area of Northern Greece. Also, the branch is a point of sale for customers from the Balkan countries, countries that have always been an export destination for Karastergiou Bros. products. In 2014, apart from the B57 company, Karastergiou Bros also operates B55, increasing its total refrigerated space in KATH to 120 sq.m.
Karastergiou Bros transports the fruit from the respective production site to the packing house and from there to the branch or to other customers in Greece with a privately owned fleet of 6 trucks, 3 of which are refrigerated. In addition to our own vehicles, Karastergiou Bros has long-term cooperation with specific transporters, both for road and sea transport, to ensure that the delivery of products to the customer is done consistently, safely and with respect for the environment.
